Walter Lester

In Loving Memory of Walter Lester WALTER LESTER, 84 of Dublin, formerly of Eggleston passed away Thursday, July 01, 2010 at Pulaski Health & Rehab Center.  Mr. Lester was born on December 13, 1925 in Paynesville, WV. and was a son of the late Harrison Lester and Eva Estep Lester Kennedy.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Caroline Ellis Lester, two brothers and one sister.  Mr. Lester was a U.S. Army Veteran in WWII serving in the 100th Division in France and Germany being awarded a Silver Star.  Mr. Lester was a 50 year member of Eggleston Lodge #309 A.F. & A.M.  He is survived by one son, Walter Eugene Lester and Karen of Radford, three daughters, Bonnie L. Golden and Jerry of Swannanoa, NC, Rita L. Hix and Gary of Fredericksburg, Eva Porterfield and Harry of Pulaski, five grandchildren, Karen, Brent, Gary, Brian, Eric and six great grandchildren, Hayden, Bryce, Bobby Meghan, Lucas and Hallie.  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with burial following in the Highland Memorial Gardens in Dublin.  The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 – 8 pm.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at givensfuneralhome.com.
