Thomas Oscar Eads

Thomas Oscar Eads, 85 of Pearisburg went to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon November 10, 2014 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Mr. Eads was born on March 1, 1929 in Radford and was the son of the late William Gordon Eads and Ethel Hutton Eads. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Thomas David Eads. Tom served his professional career of over 37 years in the banking industry in Marion, Pearisburg and then Richlands. He was a member of the Richlands Masonic Lodge # 318, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg, the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, the Prime Timers and the Triangle Ruritan Club. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Ratcliffe Eads, two sons, John Michael (Jo Jo) Eads and wife Charlotte of Pearisburg, James William Eads and wife Misty of Gastonia, NC, two sisters, Elizabeth Turner of Roanoke, Evelyn Yarber of Marion, two brothers, Bill Eads and wife India of Ravenna, OH, Darrell Eads of Marion, seven grandchildren, John, Chris, Mike, Corey, Shanna, James, Jr. and Mary Lucinda Dawn Eads, five great grandchildren, Devon, David, Deborah, Tucker and Skylar and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg with the Rev. Dr. Brian Birch and Rev. Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating with burial following in the Ratcliffe Family Cemetery in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 pm. Memorial contribution may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1101 Valleyview Dr., Pearisburg, VA. 24134 (Bereavement fund).
