Samuel Owen Lowry

Samuel Owen Lowry, 60 of Pearisburg, VA., (Trigg Area), went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville. Mr. Lowry was born on January 18, 1952 in Hinton, WV and was son of the late Amos and Betty Richmond Lowry. Besides his parents, he was preceded death by his brother David Lowry and one grandchild Tristan Ray Williams. He was a retired employee of the Volvo White Trucking with 34 years service, a member of the UAW Local 2069 in Dublin, VA. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on his farm gardening and putting up hay. He is survived by, three daughters, April Lowry of Pearisburg, Shannon Lowry of Roanoke, Mandy Williams and husband Jon of Pembroke, one son, Adam Lowry and wife Jessie of Narrows, six grandchildren, Logan, Addie, Morgan, Emily, Caleb, Ella, one great grandchild, Lori, six sisters, Susie, Ginny, Sarah, Lola, Brenda, Cathy, four brothers, Doug, Dayton, Pete and Charlie. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 31, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Rev. Alvin Trivette officiating with burial following in the Huffman Family Cemetery in Forest Hill, WV. The family will receive friends at Givens Funeral Home two hours before the service on Friday from 12 – 2.
