Katie Pauline Huffaker Norton, 97, of Jefferson City, TN went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Heritage Hall Rich Creek nursing home in Rich Creek, VA. Mrs. Norton was born on August 1, 1918 in Kodak, TN and was a daughter of the late Samuel Noah Huffaker and Anna Bell Griffey. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Seba Roosevelt Norton, three brothers, John, Murphy and Charles Huffaker, three sisters, Sallie H. Bales, Burnice H. Gales and Anna Lorene Huffaker and one grandson, Brad O. Bayless. Mrs. Norton was a lifelong resident of Jefferson City, TN, a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jefferson City, TN and a retired employee of Jefferson City Town Hall. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia N. Bayless of Pearisburg, VA., two grandchildren, Lesa B. and Les Mabe, Amy B. and Andrew Harris, one granddaughter-in-law, Christy R. Bayless, nine great grandchildren, Braylin, Aftyn, Culley, Addie, Delaney, Wyatt, Sofie, Audrey, Ford and one great great grandchild, Vivian Fluckiger. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 2pm at the Jefferson Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Jefferson City, TN, with the Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. The family would like to thank the staff and Doctors at Heritage Hall Rich Creek nursing home for their wonderful and caring service.
