Michael Duane White

Michael Duane White, 70, of Dublin, VA., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.  Mike was born on August 22, 1953, in Bluefield, WV., and was a son of the late Billy Holroyd White and Maxine Walters White.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory David White.

Mike was a 1971graduate of Narrows High School.  He retired from the Norfolk Southern Corp.  He was an active member of the Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead.   Mike loved golf, fishing and playing cards.  He enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He especially enjoyed the time he spent in recent years with his grandchildren.

He is survived by Patti White, the mother of his children, his 2 daughters, Kristen L. Throckmorton (Ryan) of Christiansburg, Lauren V. Underwood (Shane) of Smithfield, 6 grandchildren, Luke, Jaxson, Owen, Sophia, Tristan and Charlotte, 2 brothers, Steven P. White of Christiansburg, Willard A. White of Newport News, 3 sisters, Cynthia S. Hall (Tom) of NC, Carolyn Fulton of VA, Karla Walker of VA Beach, and numerous nieces & nephews. Mike also loved keeping in touch with extended family via Facebook and Messenger.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis foundation.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at givensfuneralhome.com.
