Michael Preston Johnston

Michael Preston Johnston, 55, of Eggleston, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at his home.  Michael was born on July 27, 1968, in Pearisburg, VA and was a son of Gloria Anne Dunford Montgomery and the late Carroll Philip Johnston.

Mike was a 1986 graduate of Giles High School.   He was employed at Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembroke, as a chef for over 30 years.  

Besides his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, Roy Lee Montgomery of Pearisburg. brother Kenneth S. Johnston (Tonya) of Narrows, 1 nephew, Derek Johnston of Pearisburg, 1 niece, Kendra Johnston of Narrows and special friends, Buddy, Chris and Cassy.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 6, 2024, at 11am at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg, VA with Paul Baker officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.   The family is being served by Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg, (540) 921-1650; online at givensfuneralhome.com.
