Michael Jerome Johnson

Michael Jerome Johnson 61, of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at his home. Mike was born on December 8, 1951 in Pearisburg and was a son of the late James and Virginia Hale Johnson of Narrows, VA. Mike was a graduate of Giles High School and a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Business Administration and worked in hotel management. He was a lifelong member of the Pearisburg First United Methodist Church and was an avid sports fan especially the Atlanta Braves and the Va. Tech Hokies. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly D. Carroll Bennett and her husband Bobby of Alderson, WV and his son, Wesley Adam Johnson of Pearisburg, his sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Tom Johnson of Narrows, two nephews, Tim and Katie Johnson, Matt and Laura Johnson, two great nephews, T. Cover Johnson, IV, and Wyatt A.S. Johnson and one great neice, Joan E. Johnson. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2pm with the Rev Brian Birch and Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg, Saturday from 6 – 8.
