Mattie Roberts Woodyard

Mattie Roberts Woodyard, 97 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord Monday, December 24, 2012 at Golden Living Blue Ridge in Galax, VA. Mrs. Woodyard was born on February 22, 1915 in Crewe, VA and was a daughter of the late Jesse F. Roberts and Lizzie Poole Roberts. Besides her parents, two brothers and three sisters, she was preceded in death by her husband Ephraim Stanley (Buck) Woodyard. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Stanley R. (Bucky) & Jean Nowlin Woodyard of Christiansburg, William Daly (Lucky) and Shelia McClanahan Woodyard of Hillsville, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 27at 12:00pm at Givens Funeral Chapel with the Rev Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating with burial following at the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 11 to 12pm. Givens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
