Leroy Collins

Leroy Collins, 77 of Pearisburg, VA., went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Collins was born on January 16, 1936 in Staffordsville and was a son of the late Charlie Levy Collins and Virginia Mae Sadler Collins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles W. Collins. Mr. Collins was a former employee of Ingram Furniture in Pearisburg, a longtime employee and retiree of Bluestone Tire Company in Pearisburg. Mr. Collins was a longtime and avid Spartan Football Fan. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth Butler Collins of Pearisburg, his loving and devoted daughter, Beverly (Beth) Collins and David Meredith of Pearisburg, two grandchildren who where his world and his rock, Zachary Allen Collins and Bethany Davette Meredith of Pearisburg, one brother, James Smith Collins and wife Virginia of Blacksburg, one sister, Sally Mae C. Ryan of Dublin and his special feline friend, Molly the cat. Funeral services will be conducted, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11:00am at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Pastor Jeremy Quist officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg Monday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
