Kay Howell Houck

Kay Howell Houck, 92 of Pearisburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Commonwealth Senior Living in Christiansburg, VA. Kay was born on June 25, 1932, in North Carolina, and was a daughter of the late Glen Howell and Eula Miller Howell. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Weaver Houck.

Kay grew up in Todd, NC and moved to Nickelsville, VA, after marrying. She was a beautician for 20 years while living there, then moving to Pearisburg in 1978. She was involved with her husband operating HO-BO Trucking in Pearisburg for 20 years. Kay was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg. She loved to garden, playing cards and talking to everyone she met. She never met a stranger. She loved spending time with her family, grandkids and her great granddaughter. 

She is survived by, her son, Roger Allen Houck (Jan) of Pearisburg, 2 grandchildren, Leslie Williams (Jane) of Pulaski, TN, Andy Houck (Alli Jo) of Spring Valley, CA, great granddaughter, Tatum Houck, brother, Reeves Howell (Alice) of Winston-Salem, NC, 2 sisters, Lynn Greene of Boone, NC and Carol Mauney (Ted) of Boone, NC and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family request memorial donations be made to the Pearisburg First United Methodist Church/Lord’s Acre, P.O. Box 400, Pearisburg, VA 24134.
