Joanne Whitlow Harmon

Joanne Whitlow Harmon, 82 of Aiken, SC, formerly of Pearisburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Joann was born on January 30, 1931 in Roanoke and was a daughter of the late Robert L. Whitlow and Mary Underwood Whitlow. Joanne was a graduate of Pearisburg High School (Red Devils), she was a member of the Castle Rock Baptist Church in Pembroke, she enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach and loved boating and fishing at Smith Mountain Lake. She is survived by her husband, Roger Lee Harmon of Aiken, SC, four brothers-in-law and their wives, Carl and Edith Barnett, Michael and Betty Viera, John and Joyce McClain, Jim Cole, sister-in-law, Karen Harmon, two cousins, Becky Graham and husband Bobby, Shirley Obenchain and husband Buddy and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem with the Rev Gary Poff officiating. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg, Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
