Joanna Carol Rogers Sexton

Joanna Carol Rogers Sexton, 71, of Pearisburg, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, April 1, 2024.  Joanna was born on August 8, 1952, in Pearisburg and was a daughter of the late Ervin Howard Rogers and Anna Jean Duncan Rogers.  

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Diane Sexton (Jamie Blankenship) of Pearisburg, son, Sean Gregory Sexton (Sandra) of Pearisburg, brother, Ervin Jeff Rogers (Judy) of Pearisburg, sister, Charlotte Breeding (Benny) of Christiansburg, 7 grandchildren, Dallas, Brittany, Jacob (Sarah), Savannah, Justin, Jordon, Brianna, one great grandson, Ryner and special aunt Virginia Parsons 

Joanna was a lifelong resident of Pearisburg.   She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandson and friends.  She always put her family before herself.  Joanna enjoyed being outside in the sun and playing in the park with her grandkids.  She was also a past employee of the Giles Country Club for 23 years.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 4, 2024. at 1 pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Pastor Phil Vickers officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour before the service from 12 – 1pm.  The family is being served by Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg, (540) 921-1650; online at givensfuneralhome.com.
