Irene Kelly Hodge

Irene Kelly Hodge, 84 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Radford Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Hodge was born on March 1, 1930 in Giles County, VA and was a daughter of Robert Kelly and Myrtle Bailey Kelly. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Carson Hodge, three brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church in Wilburn Valley, a longtime member of the American Red Cross, the Ruritans, the Red Hats and other civic organizations. She was always willing to help others in need no matter what. She also loved flowers and gardening. She is survived by one daughter, Brenda H. Johnson and husband Benny of Gretna, one son, Larry Hodge and wife Izma of Pearisburg, one granddaughter, Angela Hodge Huff of Pulaski and one great granddaughter, Brooke Huff, three step-grandchildren, Tena Simpkins of Pembroke, Tammy Burleson of Pulaski, Norman Johnson of Boston, MA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the Providence United Methodist Church Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Ted Anders officiating with entombment following in the Birchlawn Abby in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning at the Church from 10 – 11:00 am.
