Henry Levi Wade

Henry Levi Wade, 94 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2016 at his home. Henry was born on July 6, 1921 in Franklin County, VA and was a son of the late Henry Lee Wade and Julia Mary Wagoner Wade. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Crook Wade and one sister, Dallas W. Hall and one brother, Everett Wade. Henry was a WWII Veteran for 3 ½ years in the South Pacific with the 2nd Marine Division, 18th Marine Company. He was a member of the Pearisburg Baptist Church, a retiree from the Celanese Plant in Narrows with 38 years of service, a member of the Pearisburg Volunteer Fire Department for 58 years and a member of VFW Post 6000 in Narrows, VA. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Claudia Lee W. and Wayne Lowe of Pulaski, one sister, Virginia W. Hodges of Rocky Mount, VA, two granddaughters, Andrea Jean Hodge and husband Chris of Barren Springs and Terri Lynn Richardson and husband Chad of Mount Airy, NC and three great grandsons, Jonathan Dakota Hodge, Ty Mason Richardson, Lucas Gage Richardson, one great granddaughter, Gabrielle Grace Richardson. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Quift officiating with entombment following in the Birchlawn Abbey. Memorial donations may be made to the Pearisburg Volunteer Fire Department. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home one hour before the service from 1 to 2 pm.
