Elsie Mae Davis Taylor

Elsie Mae Davis Taylor, 93 of Pearisburg, VA. went to be with the Lord Friday, October 12, 2012 at Highland Ridge Rehab Center in Dublin, VA. Mrs. Taylor was born on March 19, 1919 in Mount Airy, NC and was a daughter of the late John D. and Alvia Wagoner Davis. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Daniel Lester Taylor, three sisters, one brother and great grandson, Sage Mahady. Mrs Taylor was a member of the First Christian Church in Pearisburg for over 60 years, and was a homemaker and a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by one daughter, Terry T. Stafford of Christiansburg, one son and daughter-in-law, John Daniel and Sherri Taylor of Boyton Beach, Fl, one brother, Robert (Bobby) Davis of North Carolina and four grandchildren, John Anthony Taylor, Amy Taylor Petrick and husband Joe, Bart Stafford and Lindsey Stafford. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 15, 2012 at 11:00am at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. Dr. Steven Jumper officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Sunday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
