In Loving Memory of Elsie Elliott Caldwell Farmer ELSIE ELLIOTT CALDWELL FARMER, 101 of Roanoke, Pearisburg and formerly of Keystone, WV, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Friendship Health Care Center in Roanoke, VA. Mrs. Farmer was born on February 7, 1909 in Goodwins Ferry, VA, and was a daughter of the late Robert Gleason Caldwell and Emma Sue Scott Caldwell. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clinton Everett Farmer of Keystone, WV, whom she married on August 21, 1923 in Pearisburg. Mr. Farmer was employed at Eastern Associated Coal where he retired as Station Boss in 1964. Mr. Farmer passed away on December 15, 1968. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert Everett Farmer, Samuel David Farmer, two daughters, Virginia Farmer Blankenship and Irene Farmer Dowell, four sisters, Lucille Caldwell Snyder, Nina Linkous Hurst, Ellie Mae Caldwell Meredith, Hazel Caldwell Linkous and two brothers, Emmett Windford Caldwell and Carl Gleason Caldwell She is survived by one son, James Clinton Farmer and wife Judith of Roanoke, VA., special daughter-in-law, Nancy P. Farmer of Pearisburg, seventeen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg at 2:00 pm with Dr. Don McKinney officiating with the grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Monday, one hour before the service from 1 2 pm.
