Elmer Leon Goad

Elmer Leon Goad, 93, of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. He is preceded in death by his wife India A. Goad, a daughter Carol A. Caldwell, three brothers, and two sisters. Mr. Goad was a WWII Army Medic Veteran in the 10th Mountain Division serving in Italy. He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Irene and Ron Barney, Bessie and Howard McCormick both from Advance, NC., one son and wife, R. Leon and Jackie Goad from Hillsville, VA., and two sisters, Cynthia and Margaret. Funeral services will be conducted at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 2:00pm with Bishop R. Leon Goad officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home from 1 – 2 pm before the service.
