Ella Poff Lindsey
Her chains are gone now, shes been set free. Ella Francis Poff Lindsey (Sue) 82 of Pearisburg and formerly a long time resident of Hampton, VA was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday October 17th, 2012. She was born in Rocky Gap, VA on January 22, 1930. She was preceded in death by her husband James W. Lindsey, her parents Sam and Ruby Poff, her brother David MacArthur Poff and an infant sister Jean E. Poff. Left with loving memories are her sister Betty Henderson and husband Paul, sons William T. Lindsey, Wally Lindsey and wife Julie, daughters Debbie Lindsey, Beverly Kast and son-in-law Barry, nine grandchildren Bobby Reifsnyder, Shahn Reifsnyder and wife Kayci Samara, Ethan and Marissa Kast Hannah, Abby, Kate and Nathan Lindsey, and one great grandson, Shahn Logan Reifsnyder. She loved and adored her nieces and nephews of the Sugar Run area and we are so grateful for the support and kindness of Mary Henderson, Robbie Robertson and Charles Henderson. A special thanks goes to Dr. McMahon and Dr. Olson and to the amazing nursing, dietary and housekeeping staff of Giles Community Hospital. The care and support by Good Samaritan Hospice made it possible for Ella to remain at home as long as possible. The family is truly grateful to Pastor Amy Bartee for her care, support and compassion. Additionally, we thank God for mom's dear friend of more than 35 years, Margie Journell of Pearisburg. The family is in the care of Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg. Visitation will be at 9:30 Saturday October 20th, at Thessalia Methodist Church, 100 Old Thessalia Rd. Pearisburg, with the service following at 11 oclock am. The graveside service will be held at Thessalia Cemetery. The service will be conducted by Charles Henderson and Pastor Amy Bartee who will officiate.
