Douglas Macarthur Harless

Douglas MacArthur (Mac) Harless, 68 of Dublin, VA., entered into eternal rest Tuesday, March 8, 2011 after a long hard fight with many health battles. Mr. Harless was born in Giles County on April 10, 1942 and was a son of the late Clarence and Hazel Weiss Harless. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Marshall Harless. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He was a former supervisor at Burlington Industries, formerly Klopman Mills in Dublin and a former machine operator at Wolverine in Blacksburg. He is survived by, two sons and daughter-in-law, Dean Harless of Dublin, John and Kristy Harless of Max Meadows, four grandchildren, Dee Dee, Alyssa, Johnetta , Madison, two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Helen Harless of Radford, William (Bill) and Betty Harless of Pearisburg, two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Harless of Williston, SC, Patty Harless of Pulaski, four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois H. and Donald Stafford of Radford, Betty H. and James Roberts of Pearisburg, Patsy H. and Bob Bruce of Christiansburg, Diane H. and Scotty Fewell of Dublin and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. Raymond White officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home, Thursday from 6 – 8 pm.
