Cleo Francis (C.F.) Lucas, Jr.

Cleo Francis (C.F.) Lucas, Jr. 74 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Mr. Lucas was born on November 23, 1938 in Goldbond, Va. and was a son of the late Cleo Francis Lucas, Sr. and Katherine L. Lucas. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Martin and Ronnie Lucas. Mr. Lucas was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a retired employee of the Celanese Corp. in Narrows, a member of Giles Masonic Lodge # 106 A.F. & A.M. and was the current administrator of the Pearisburg Moose Lodge. Growing up on Big Stony Creek he became an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Peggy Lafon Lucas of Pearisburg, two daughters, Rene L Proco and husband Gary of Tampa, FL, Sandra L. Chafin of Pearisburg, one son, Paul David Lucas and wife Jenn of Christiansburg, two sisters, Charlotte L. Wagner of Pearisburg, Pat L Via and husband Jim of Roanoke, one aunt, Elizabeth Darnell of Pearisburg and six grandchildren, Ryan and Caitlyn Proco, Kyle and Elise Chafin, Presley Lucas and Dallas Durham. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 11:00am at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Rhett Butler officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Chapel Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 pm. The family would like to thank Dr. McCoy and Staff at Blue Ridge Cancer center and Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg.
