Charlotte Lucas Wagner

Charlotte Lucas Wagner, 79, of Pearisburg, VA, went to her heavenly home on April 29th, 2022, surrounded by her family. Charlotte was born August 7th, 1942, in Goldbond, Virginia, daughter of the late Cleo Francis Lucas, Sr. and Katherine Snider Lucas. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Vernon Wagner, and three brothers Martin, Ronnie & Cleo (C.F.). She graduated from Pearisburg High School in 1960. After graduation, she went on to study at Radford College. She then worked for Celanese and American Electric Power as a lab chemist until she retired in 2002 to be a caregiver for her husband, Paul. She was a member of Angels Rest Baptist Church, the Giles G.O.P., and the George Pearis Chapter of the D.A.R. Charlotte was a devout Christian, loving wife and caring mother. She was a very kind and giving person to everyone she met. Many of her favorite activities centered around spending time with her church family, working around her home and spoiling her dachshund puppy, Molly. She was dearly loved by her family and all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Charlotte is survived by one sister, Patricia Via and husband Jim, daughters Terri Caldwell and husband Darrell, Jacquelyn Myers and husband Doug, sons Steve Albert and wife Lorea, Andrew Wagner and wife Rebecca and grandchildren Melissa, Meredith, Morgan, Courtney, Kara, Dylan, Olivia and Isabella, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 2nd 2022, from 6-8PM at Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg. The funeral will follow on Tuesday, May 3rd at 11:00AM at the Givens Funeral Chapel with Pastor Craig Whittaker officiating with burial following at Birchlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Giles County Bible Bus Program, P.O. Box 401, Pearisburg, VA 24134. A very special thanks to the staff of Carilion Giles Community Hospital for their extraordinary care along with her wonderful caregiver Debbie Mays who provided so much love and support.
