Buddy Lee Blankenship

Buddy Lee Blankenship, 80, of Pearisburg, Va. went to be with the Lord Saturday morning, March 26, 2022, at Princeton Community Hospital. Mr. Blankenship was born on June 29, 1941, in Giles County and was a son of the late Wirt Franklin Blankenship and Helen Mae Stump Blankenship. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Janice Fay Stafford Blankenship; his brother, William Lewis Blankenship, Sr.; and, brothers-in-law, Curtis Parker, Harvey Gene Stafford and James Edward Stafford. Mr. Blankenship attended Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Bane, Va. He served his country in the Army from 1962-1964. He retired from Celanese in Narrows in 2002. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his daughters, Angela and Mark Palmer of Pearisburg, April and Glenn Myers of Pearisburg, Christina Blankenship (fiancé Cody Wall) of Christiansburg; his grandchildren, Alexia and Nick Biggs, Stuart Myers, Tarah Carrico (fiancé Brennen Weikle), Trevor and Yanishia Myers, Luke Palmer, and Hope Palmer (Gavin Givens); his great-grandchildren, Aria Biggs, Madeline Biggs, and Pacey Carrico; his sisters, Shirley and Paul Underwood of Herndon, Va., and Bernice Parker of Christiansburg, Va.; his sister-in-law, Kathryn and Frank Brown of Pearisburg; his brothers-in-law, Robert and Diane Stafford of Oliver Springs, Tenn., and William and Linda Stafford of Pearisburg; and, his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Pearisburg with Reverend Bob Moore officiating. A military service will follow at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church from 10-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
