Billy Gene Munsey

Billy Gene Munsey, 69 of Pearisburg, Va., went to be with the Lord Sunday Morning, July 24, 2011 at his home in Pearisburg. Mr. Munsey was born on August 30, 1941 in Pearisburg and was a son of the late Walter F. Munsey and Minnie Wilburn Munsey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Compton Munsey, one brother, W. F. Munsey. Mr. Munsey was a retired school teacher with the Giles County School System and was a member of Pearisburg Moose Lodge. He is survived by three sons, Dana and Lenora Munsey of Pembroke, Colin and Heather of Pearisburg, Kelly and Tina Munsey of Pembroke, five grandchildren, Cheynae, Brandon, Jake, Luke and Dru, one brother, Arthur (Red) Munsey of Roanoke, and close and beloved girlfriend, Marilyn Shafer of Ripplemead. Funeral services will be conducted, Thursday, July 28, 2011, 10 am at the Givens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home, Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
