Betty Lee Moses

Betty Lee Moses, 88 of Pearisburg, VA., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at her home. Betty was born on August 25, 1924 in Pocahontas, VA and was a daughter of the late Compton Black Moses and Edna Lucille Elmore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Moses Nelson. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg and was a retired employee of the Dominion Bank Shares in Pearisburg. Betty was also a longtime volunteer for the Giles County Chamber of Commerce and the Giles County Historical Society. She is survived by one brother, C.R. (Buddy) Moses of Pearisburg, two sisters, Eleanor M. Mathena of Blacksburg, Billie M. Gilmore of Lynchburg, seven nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00am at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. Brian Birch officiating with entombment in the Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 - 8 pm.
