Barbara Diane Cummings Adams

Barbara Diane Cummings Adams, 72 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Lewis-Gale Pulaski. Barbara was born on June 5, 1948 in Ballard, WV and was a daughter of the late James Lee Cummings and Inge Werschler Cummings. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mellissa Ann Adams. Barbara was a nurse for 36 years working in both hospitals and nursing homes. She was the nurse for 18 years for a vascular Surgeon. She loved to cook, crochet, and send cards to the sick and shut ins. She made over 450 afghans and gave them to people who were sick and in need of love. Her mission was to try and help others. She is survived by her husband of 49 ½ years, Carl M. Adams of Pearisburg, one son, Edward Lee Adams (Michele) of Vinton, two grandchildren, Dakota and Kendall Adams of Vinton, three sisters, Chonita Utterback (Terry) of Ballard, WV, Annette Crawford (Kenneth) of Manchester, TN, and Cerisia Cummings of Manchester, TN. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 11am at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 -11am before the service.
