Alex F. Frankie Wilson, III On Sunday, March 25, 2012, Alex F. Frankie Wilson III of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia passed away. Frankie was born on March 25, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland. He is survived by his father Alex F. Wilson, Jr. and mother, Beulah Evans Wilson, and two Sisters, Patricia Colmer and Nancy L. Wilson of Staffordsville, Virginia. In addition he is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Christine Glasscock Wilson, his daughter, Tammy Joe Smith, his son, Alex F. Wilson, IV, two stepsons, Richard and Roger West, four grandsons, Parker Smith, Payton Smith, Dallas Wilson and Shane West and many family and friends throughout southwestern Virginia and the panhandle of West Virginia where he resided for the last 11 years. Frankie was a proud veteran who served his country for six years as a member of the US Army. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington where he was a member of the 2nd/75th Ranger Battalion for three years and then at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. He was an over-the road trucker, mechanic as well as owned and operated Shade Tree Trucking with his wife Christine. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31 at Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg, Virginia at 2:00 p.m. He will be buried immediately following the service at the Wilson family cemetery with Military Honors will be given by American Legion Post #68 in Narrows American Legion Post #311in Pembroke and VFW Post #6000 in Narrows. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem VA Medical Center, 1970 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, VA 24153 and checks should be made out to; VA-Voluntary Service with Alex F. Wilson III in the notes area. Family and friends will be gathering after the burial in the fellowship hall at the New Village Pentecostal Holiness Church in Staffordsville, VA.
