Aldenia Marie Meredith-Hite

It is with great sadness we announce on 28 November 2022, Aldenia "Lena" Meredith-Hite passed into the arms of the lord, born on 24 August 1941 to the late Robert "Bob" and Josephine "Josie" Dolinger in Konnorak, Virginia. Lena will be remembered for many things, including her 20 years of service as the Head Housekeeper at the Donaldson Brown and then The Inn At Virginia Tech, but she was most proud of being a mother to her late son, F. Steven "Steve" Meredith and her time as Scout Master to Boy Scout Troop 264 of Pembroke. In addition to her parents and son, Lena is also preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd "Bud" Meredith and Richard Carlton Hite, Sr., two brothers, Avery Dolinger, Sr., and Robert Dolinger, as well as her sister Bonnie Akers. Lena is survived by her brother Clate Dolinger, two granddaughters, Katherine (Ryan) Midkiff, and Elizabeth R. Meredith, daughter-in-law Dr. Margaret L. Meredith; nieces and nephews, Kenneth Dolinger, Stephanie (Gary) Evans, Avery (Jessie) Dolinger, Jr., Robert Auvil, Mike (Melissa) Dolinger, Amy (Eric) Johnson, Robert "Rob" Dolinger. Many great nieces and nephews and dear friends also survive her. Visiting hours will be from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Given's Funeral Home in Pearisburg, followed by a Graveside Service at Birchlawn Cemetery Saturday, 03 December 2022 at 2pm.
